The Purpose for this Fundraising Event

Animo Venice Charter High School students will be attending a retreat from November 22-23, 2005 in Malibu, CA as part of our school’s ongoing effort to build culture and unity among our peers and staff members. The objectives of our retreat are to build school culture and teamwork, increase our sense of belonging, and at the same time, provide us an opportunity to explore the outdoor and escape from the normal everyday school activities.

Our school is working with CHAMPIONS Sports and Adventure Programs to organize this event. As an organization, CHAMPIONS have extensive experience organizing retreats, offering adventure activities, meals, and transportations to get-a-ways all around California, at relatively low costs.

For our 2-day retreat, the $150 cost per student covers transportation, four meals, 12 camp facilitators, accommodations, and insurance. Our school is organizing a letter-writing campaign by which each student will take part of the responsibility for raising the $43,500 needed for every one of the 290 of our students to attend this event. I am writing to you as part of my effort to contact as many people as I can.

Animo Venice
is one of the five Green Dot Public Schools and is located on the campus of Broadway Elementary in Venice, CA. The high school was founded in 2004 with a commitment to high expectations and a rigorous college-prep curriculum that will prepare us for college, leadership, and life.

As leaders in our community, Animo Venice students believe that we have the potential to accomplish anything we set ourselves out to do and we truly believe that through our collective efforts, we will raise the $43,500 we needed for each of our peers to attend this important retreat.

Any size donation will be appreciated and all donations are tax-deducible. Checks can be made out to “Animo Venice Charter High School.” I implore you to help us with this effort.

Thank you in advance for your support and contribution.

I really like how you used your blog to raise funds. Neat! Have you ever thought about Custom Made Wristbands ?
